MISSIONS

SCIENCE EXPEDITIONS
The first mission of EXPLORE is to seal all the oceans across the globe for Science. We created EXPLORE to find solutions to climate change, ocean acidification, overfishing, and marine pollution. Our research vessel will provide a flexible research platform and logistical support to National Antarctic Programs, Institutions, Laboratories and other peer-reviewed projects. EXPLORE will be fully equipped to support expeditions, film crews, scientists, photographers, divers, artists, and adventurers. Many national research fleets are aging and shrinking. Since 2005, for example, the U.S. academic fleet has declined from 27 vessels to 18, and by 2025 it will drop to 16 ships. As a result, marine scientists can face long waits for ship time. EXPLORE could also make a significant contribution to understanding fisheries on the high seas. The intergovernmental organizations that regulate fishing beyond national jurisdictions don’t own ships and can rarely afford to pay for time. Free access to EXPLORE could help scientists fill the gaps. We provide researchers from around the world with access to EXPLORE.

EDUCATING CHILDREN ACROSS THE GLOBE
One of our missions is to make a worldwide tour to educate children on ocean protection. We plan to present awareness sessions worldwide focusing on three major threats: acidification, overfishing, and plastic pollution. We’ll invite schools and families to join our conferences and workshops dedicated to presenting the solutions we can apply on a daily basis, to protect the oceans. Our objective is to inform as many children as possible in the hope that an educated child today will be an aware citizen tomorrow. Oceans are vital to human health. generate half the oxygen we breathe and provide homes for many species that enable us to exist. They regulate our climate and provide valuable food sources too. Human activities generate a negative impact on the beautiful oceans. Human activities threaten the existence of several marine species and also human beings indirectly. An estimated 17.6 billion pounds of plastic leaks into the marine environment from land-based sources every year—this is roughly equivalent to dumping a garbage truck full of plastic into the oceans every minute.
CREATING ART WITH DEEP-SEA DIVERS
Art is our passion and creation is our core. We design visual ART as a powerful tool for bringing attention on climate change and taking actions to protect the oceans and the most threatened marine species. Art is a universal language that opens people’s hearts. We use art by combining several artistic disciplines in order to connect people on an emotional level with the beauty of our world. We created a team of deep-sea divers, dancers, photographers and filmmakers. We aim to create stories that resonate differently in each individual. ART will help to reveal the beauty of the ocean. ART is another way to give knowledge and to educate. Knowledge leads to action. Action inspires change. Change leads to positive impact.
